Bunny's Paradise
A Unity school project made together with 5 of my classmates
Hi, I’m Juliën Oving, a third-year Software Development student (MBO level 4) from Almere. I’m really focused on improving my skills as a mechanics prototyper. Lately, I’ve started learning C++ and I’m currently building my own game engine. I'm using it to create a Tetris-style game with roguelike elements — it’s been a great way to learn more about how games work behind the scenes.
I enjoy turning ideas into quick prototypes and testing out new features. I’m very comfortable working with Unity and Visual Studio, and I usually get into a good flow pretty fast when I’m building tools or gameplay systems.
I’m also really interested in Japanese culture and plan to study the Japanese language in Japan for a year or two after graduating. I’d love to live and work there someday.
Some of the games that inspire me are Celeste, Portal, Terraria, OSU!, and A Dance of Fire and Ice. I like rhythm games and precision platformers because of their tight, satisfying gameplay. My favorite two genres, though, are Factory Management games and JRPG's — I love the emotional stories and strategic gameplay of JRPG, and the deep complexity/problem solving of Factory Management. Persona 3 Portable and Factorio are two of my all-time favorite games.
My goal is to keep growing as a developer and build tools and game mechanics that help teams create cool, creative games more easily. Curious about what I’m working on or just want to talk games? Feel free to reach out!
